Description: OFDM Signal generation and decoding using QPSK as the modulation technique. This type of OFDM is particularly useful for WiMAX and other Wireless and Multimedia Standards. QAM4 and QPSK is same modulation technique. Just run the Model and with different SNRs in the Channel Block observe the performance of the OFDM. Please leave your feedback for the model so that we can improve it.

Description: OFDMA, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access is a broad band communication method. Here channel estimation is more crucial. Based on the FFT size used for OFDM transmission method that many number of channel co-efficients are to be estimated and received signals are to be equalized using this co-efficients. Various methods trying to improve the performance and fastness are proposed. As part of master thesis various methods have be studied and evaluated using the WiMAX 802.16 system. Platform: |

Description: WiMAX, or the IEEE 802.16 standard for broadband wireless access, is increasingly gaining in popularity as
a technology with significant market potential. This paper first provides an overview of the existing and
developing 802.16 standards and their key differences/applications. The PHY and MAC layers of a typical
WiMAX base station are then described. The associated implementation challenges faced by WiMAX
infrastructure developers, including performance/cost/flexibility trade-offs in the choice of silicon, are
clearly outlined. The paper then describes how FPGA-based system implementation can address these
challenges including the “accelerated time-to-market” requirement which is considered a key enabler for
early success in this market. As an example design, the physical layer implementation of the 802.16d
standard with Altera FPGAs and intellectual property (IP) is proposed. Platform: |

Abstract. The paper analyses performance of IEEE 802.16 standard, also
known as WiMAX, when relay stations are introduced. Thanks to this feature,
coverage area and throughput of the system may be significantly enhanced. The
article defines the increase of system capacity of the relay based cell
deployment compared to a conventional single hop deployment of the same
area size. Further, the parameters that have main impact on the system with
relays and its capacity are determined.
Keywords: WiMAX, performance, throughput, Relay Station.
